Cracking the canter

Rode Sundance again yesterday, out in the field as we're planning to go to a show on Sunday which will be on grass. So we mounted up in the school, mainly because I couldn't be bothered to carry the mounting block out to the field, then headed out the gate. Had a fantastic session of walk, trot and canter on both reins. His canter was absolutely amazing, so calm but with so much impulsion behind it, no bucks and he didn't fall out until I asked him back to trot. It was the best his canter has ever been and I was so happy! Such an amazing ride!
Today I just brought him in and had a good hour of being with him. Gave him a good groom, hung out in the stable with him, we had a little quiet time and I think it really did him some good, we've been working hard lately and I think we just needed some time to be together without trying to do any work.
Rode Bella today, just another session of walk, trot, canter in the school. She was lovely as she has been since I started riding her again. I still find it a little weird riding something her size, but I'm getting used to it. She's a lovely horse :)
